I hate drinking plain water. It’s so tasteless and bland. But when I started to drink flavored water, I gained a ton of weight! No thanks! And I don’t drink soda anymore; gave that up years ago and haven’t looked back since! So, water it is.
Sweet Watermelon Water
But, I miss my FLAVA! So, I came up with this amazing healthy watermelon water recipe that I know you’ll love as well. You get the sweetness from the watermelon and the health benefits of both the water and the watermelon.
Ingredients for this watermelon infused water:
- 2 Cups cubed seedless watermelon
- 4 Cups cold purified water
- Concentrated alcohol-free Stevia (here’s the one I use)
- Juice of half a lime, lime slices to garnish
- Crushed ice, optional
Directions:
Step 1: Combine seedless watermelon and first two cups of cold water into a blender. Pulse on high until the watermelon chunks have broken up. Set blender to liquefy or puree for two minutes until the watermelon has been completely turned to water.
Step 2: Pour watermelon juice into a clean pitcher. Add additional two cups cold water and stir well.
Step 3: Stir in the juice of half a lime or use lime essential oil if you have on hand.
Step 4: Add Stevia to the pitcher, but add a little at a time, stirring as you go and taste as you stir to make sure the watermelon water is not too sweet. Depending on the sweetness of your particular watermelon, more or less Stevia can be added.
Step 5: Pour over crushed ice and add a lime slice to garnish. You could also easily make this into a slushie for the kids!
