I love to give little ones dress up costumes for Xmas. It’s something they really seem to enjoy getting and they last them a really long time. But, I’m not fond of paying retail, if you didn’t know. 
So, I like to shop AFTER Halloween.
Now, I rarely shop Kmart because they don’t have great QUALITY merchandise, and as you know, I’m a quality girl, but there is one product they have that no where else carries, so I usually go after Halloween to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.
They have a TON of clearance Halloween costumes for 90% off. This made most of the ones I saw 99¢-$2.99, which is perfect when you are on a budget. I simply remove the Halloween part and no one ever knows how little I pay for a nice gift.
If you want to make some money, you can very easily purchase a lot of the outfits, and store them safely until next years’ Halloween. Sell them during the holiday and make a nice little bundle! This is what I used to do with kids winter and summer clothes as well.
I remember one year, I bought about 30 Halloween costumes and because I had so many, I sold them all for $150; didn’t want to mess with selling them individually. Got a few low-ball bids, but ended up meeting a lady who wanted to resell them in her store and she bought them all. It took me a few minutes to list the ad, about 10 minutes to purchase the costumes, 3 minutes to take from my trunk and put into storage tubs, 10 minutes to show them to her, and I made a good $100 profit! I was happy because it was ‘quick money’ and she was happy because she had the time to really make more. Win win!
