This year has been insane…..INsane! There are now over a million of you out there reading this blog. And that frightens me.
When I first started this blog, it was simply to teach my friends how I could possibly live so well on only $18,000/year. I’ve come a long way since then…
- Being on TV on the Rachael Ray Show
- Hitting over a million in traffic per month
- Making over $10,000/month income
- I published a few books
- Learned a lot about blogging, both good and bad. Getting hurt along the way, and learning who I can trust.
- Developing an amazing team to FINALLY have help
- Going from working 80-120 hours a week (yep, you read that right) for 3-4 years STRAIGHT to working 40 hours a week. Seriously, 40 hours feels like vacation! LOL
I’m not that same girl I was 22 months ago when the blog started. I feel like, I’ve just gotten out of my cocoon as a butterfly. I was a caterpillar for the LONGEST time and now, I’m a butterfly, ready to fly.
You see, reaching a million people is not the end of my journey. I know where God is taking me. This is only the beginning! One day, I know that Sarah Titus will be a household name…and that’s scary beyond belief. To be responsible for that many people. What if I mess up, I know I will; I’m human! What if I say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing, and 100,000 people hate me. It’s a lot of pressure because I never want to let anyone down. I love you all so much, and the truth is that I struggle because I also, have to be ME. I have weird quirks. I think about things in a different way. My brain works differently. And it still shocks me to this day that anyone out there actually can relate or understand my “weirdness.”
I get emails every week saying how they feel weird too and it’s nice to see someone embrace it. Oh, okay. It seems like I embrace my weirdness. That’s good. Sometimes I feel like a flopping around fish out of water, yet other times, I’m so confident that nothing can get me down. I feel like I’m a mess. Yet, you guys see this amazing person. That’s great, but you need to know that I struggle too….like a flopping fish. LOL. I’m a flopping fish, watch, that is going to be shared now on social media. Sarah Titus is a flopping fish….wonderful! *head slap* LOL.
The point is that I think we are ALL just a little bit weird. I mean, God made us all unique, right. There’s nothing wrong with that. You have opinions, and dreams. I’m honored that you share them here…with me.
Thank you for sharing your life with me. It’s a huge honor.
Where we’re going…
I can’t get anything by you
I don’t know how you do it, but you do. I can’t sneak anything past you at all! So, I’ve learned to just come right out and say stuff, because I always want to be transparent.
You guys are boycotting my articles…and I love it!
A few months ago, I started publishing really meaty, rich content. Posts that are long and literally take me about 7-8 hours to complete (yep, ONE post!) The posts that really teach you everything you need to know about whatever topic it is. It took a couple weeks and you guys started boycotting anything that wasn’t at least 2-3k words in length. That’s great. I’m glad you expect more of me.
Because there are TOO many bloggers out there producing fluff. I don’t want to be one of them. Now, I’m not saying that anything less than 2-3k words is fluff, but I am saying that a lot of articles are stuff that we already all know. And it’s annoying. It’s annoying to click over to a post that you’re interested in and go to read it and it’s all stuff your 2 year old already knows!
That’s not where I’m going. I’m glad you are holding me accountable to give you all I’ve got, because it is my job to SERVE you. A post your 2 year old already knows is NOT serving you.
My posts aren’t perfect. I have a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I can tell you that I promise to give you my absolute best. I’m an all or nothing kind of person. You get 500% or nothing. I choose 500%!
For that reason, I’m making a lot of changes around here…I’m ready to take this site to the next level. A few of those things include…
Redoing and/or deleting all old posts that don’t measure up
And boy are there a lot! I’ve already deleted 300 posts. I had around 900 to begin with, so there’s still plenty here, but what you WILL see is quality. 2015 was all about quantity, laying a foundation on the blog and finding out what you want and how I can best serve you. I know exactly how to do that, so 2016 and beyond, will be all about quality.
I don’t want to be average. I want to be the best site you’ve ever been to. The site that you go back to often because you FEEL the love from me oozing out of every post (and I truly hope you do!)
Speaking of quality, here are the top 10 posts of 2015:

A new site design
Blogging is changing. Design that we used to be able to get away with, we no longer can. Readers are expecting more and to keep up with that and to have a blog layout that best represents what my site is about, it’s changing.
That means that I just spent over $600 in pictures ALONE on this site to go back through everything and revamp them. I know what you’re thinking, “WOW, that’s a lot of work and a lot of money.”
It is. BUT YOU ARE WORTH IT! We all spend our money on what’s important to us. YOU are important to me, plain and simple.
That also means spending a lot of money on changing up the design of the blog. No secrets exposed yet, but I’m hoping to have it all done by Dec 1. 🙂
Fewer ads
If you haven’t noticed, that’s great, but I just took off 33 ads off my site. I want you to have the best experience possible. Is that a huge loss for me? Yes, it is literally thousands and thousands of dollars, but again I say, you are worth it! I care about you…a lot. And I want you to see that on every page.
More products
The coolest thing in the world is that you literally TELL ME what you want. Many people are asking about the book, How to Become Financially Free in paperback. I don’t make any more in paperback than I would in Kindle. It’s all about serving you guys! You want paperback, awesome, I will do it! I’ve began working with Amazon on it and it should be released very soon. I’m a little nervous, so please keep me in prayer about that and when it comes out, if you’d do me a favor and share it and leave honest reviews on Amazon for me. That will help. I LOVE hearing how you loved the book. It makes my day. 🙂
Another product you guys have asked for is on how to make a living on eBay. Awesome! I spent the last 18 years selling on eBay and am a power seller with well over 3,000 feedbacks, 100% positive. I’m currently working on a book about how to make a living on eBay that *should* release early next year, if all goes as planned.
Another request I get a lot (in my coaching of bloggers) is when they hit a plateau in growth on their blogs. That can be so frustrating and I’ve been at every plateau until a million in traffic (where I currently, and annoyingly reside). It’s something that we ALL go through, but it’s not somewhere we have to STAY at for long, and I know exactly how to get from one plateau to the next. Pretty soon, I’ll be releasing a free eBook on the 4 Plateau’s Every Blogger Hits and How to Bust Through Them.
But I’m not stopping there. It’s my commitment to release at least one new eBook a month to you and that’s what I’ve been doing. I have a lot of title ideas and books I’m working on, and of course, they are priced extremely cost effective, so you don’t have to worry about me trying to gouge you. 🙂 It’s really not about the money at all, more that I can’t stop. The author bug has bitten me AND HARD. I absolutely adore writing books. It’s a huge passion of mine. Many of you are telling me that you’re buying them as they come out and that makes me very happy that you like my work and that I’m helping you.
Here’s what one reader said on an Amazon review, “Sarah Titus is every bloggers “little black book.” She’s honest, helpful, and straight to the point. I recommend reading her blog if you don’t know where to start with your blog, or just need a big ball of inspiration! I will buy as many of her books as possible. Worth every penny!”
Thank you Kelcie! I’m a little black book. How cool is that! 🙂 Comments like that on Amazon just motivate me all the more to write more and product good, solid content for you guys to enjoy! So, keep ’em coming!
There’s a LOT more coming your way. This is only the beginning. Again, I’m so glad you’re here. If you want to get more involved with a like-minded group of women, you should join the new Facebook group, Family First. This group is not about getting the most people to join (I deny a LOT of people wanting in), it’s about having a small niche group of women, so that it can STAY intimate and deep, so be sure to join, because when it hits the pre-determined number I have in my head, I won’t open it up for anyone else. Right now’s the time to get in on it before it closes! It’s a great group to be in; the place where I personally hang out the most on social media, and a place where I share things that I don’t share anywhere else. You can request to join here.
There’s one theme running through all of this and that’s money. If there’s nothing else you ever learn from me, I hope it is this…
There are some people out there in the world, who actually choose helping people over money. We are few and far between. The world is completely money-driven and I’ve seen it all the more up close and personal than I would have liked to this year, but not EVERYONE is like that in our world. I am one that is not. And I prove that in every step I take, every day. Sacrificing daily for your cause. This is my job as a Christian, and it’s something I take extremely serious. I hope and pray that you do too in your own life.
Remember that time and money, both belong to the Lord.
What are some things that YOU’D like to see come your way? What is the one thing you’re MOST excited about in the coming months and year? As always, I love to hear your thoughts!
