I don’t drink coffee (tastes gross to me), but I was at a friend’s house and she had a bunch of K-cups left over and didn’t know what to do with them. Well, if you know me, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE to recycle (it’s my thing!) so, I took on the challenge.
Later that night, we were playing cards and my son dropped his cards….again. Of course it completely ruins the game when you see an opponent’s cards, and I tell you, he does this ALL. THE. TIME. Do your little ones always drop their cards too…or is it just mine?

If you’re not sure what to do with all of those empty K-cups, don’t throw them out! You can make this adorable raccoon k-cup card holder craft with your kids instead! It’s PEEEEERFECT for little hands!!
Raccoon K-cup Card Holder
- Clean used k-cups
- Gray spray paint
- Gray construction paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- White and black sticky back felt
- Googly eyes
- Playing cards
Directions:
Step 1: Spray paint the k-cup in a well ventilated area and let it dry completely. If needed, re-spray again and let dry.
Step 2: Using your scissors, cut a small half circle out of the sticky back white felt for the raccoon’s belly and play on the k-cup and give him 2 small black feet using the black felt. Using the black felt, add the raccoon’s feet.
Step 3: Cut a small white circle from the white felt for the raccoon’s snout and place on the k-cup. Cut a tiny black triangle out of the black felt and adhere to the white snout.
Step 4: For the raccoon ears, cut a triangle shape from the grey construction paper (if you don’t have grey construction paper, simply spray paint a paper plate while you’re spray painting your K-cup, which is what I did here). Cut 2 smaller triangles of black felt and place over the ears. Then attach the ears using the glue stick to the K-cup.
Step 5: Cut 2 small black circles from the black felt for the raccoon’s eyes, place on the k-cup and place 2 small googly eyes on top.
Step 6: For the raccoon tail, cut an oval/leaf shape from the grey construction paper (if you don’t have grey construction paper, simply spray paint a paper plate while you’re spray painting your K-cup, which is what I did here). Cut 3 small strips of black felt and place over the tail. Use the scissors to trim the sides up and then attach to the back of the raccoon using the glue stick.
Step 7: Lastly, using the paring knife to carefully slice down the sides of the k-cup about 3/4 and across the show. Go slow.
Step 8: When you are done, you can add your playing cards!
