We all know that the Bible stands against abortion, that is very clear, but what about those who’ve already done that and then came to faith AFTER becoming a Christian?
We can’t just go around judging people and making them feel bad because of sin without any rhyme or reason. We need to know the situations that surround why someone has done what they’ve done or why they are considering or have had an abortion.
Most importantly, if someone is NOT Christian, we cannot expect them to obey the commands of the Lord. They are lost and do not know their way out. Most likely, they don’t even know they’re lost. Throwing something at them like this can cause them to become bitter toward God, feeling like it’s just a list of rules, do’s and don’ts. We must ALWAYS have compassion toward others in their own unique situation, offer love and kindness, while speaking the truth in gentleness.
Tell them it’s wrong, yes, absolutely, but if they are not saved and don’t care, let it go. You just focus on your own walk with the Lord, trying to be a light to all who cross your path. Above all, be gentle with someone considering abortion. You may not know what they are REALLY dealing with!
If it’s a Christian you’re helping, come along side them. Offer support, love, truth, and honesty. Show them alternatives like adoption if they can’t keep the baby, things like that, but let THEM choose. It’s their life, not yours. We can never force someone to obey the Bible. It has to be them who decides what to do. Show them the truth, love on them, help them all you can, and then, let them decide.
If it’s you yourself who is deciding whether or not to have an abortion, read through all the Scripture verses. Pray about it. Seek God’s will and find comfort in a God who loves you immensely and cares about you and your unborn child. There’s lots of help out there for such situations as this, but these verses will get you started. ❤️
