BAM! SPLAT! You feel like a bug on a windshield. You just got splattered and there’s not really much you can do about it.
In an instant, your dreams are gone. Everything you’ve worked for. It’s all gone.
It hurts too much to look around, but when you do, you feel like it’s hopeless. Why even bother? Why try? You’ll never make it anyway.
Everyone else is living your dream. Everyone else can do it. Why can’t you?
You feel defeated. Hopeless. Crushed.
There’s no way out. There’s no way to get back in the game. It’s over. You’ll never make it through THIS one.
I know how you feel…I’ve been there too. A lot of people assume that just because I’m super successful, that I haven’t had my fair share of “wall hitting.” Or that I don’t still hit walls now. Because the truth is, I do. Everyone does.
I know it hurts and I know you feel like you can’t go on. You can’t make it through this.
When I started blogging, I had no clue what I was doing. I hit wall after wall after wall after wall. I kept praying, “LORD, this is Your will for me! Please help me get through this. I know I can’t do it without You.”
Funny thing happened…He did get me through it! Because it WAS His will!!!
Every wall I hit, He sovereignly led me to a help video or the answer somewhere, somehow…most of the time immediately. If I were searching for an hour before praying, finding nothing, all the sudden, after praying, I’d find the answer.
I learned that He’s right there beside us, nurturing us, keeping us on the path He wants us on. Sometimes He shuts doors, but He always is right there, keeping us on the path.
One of my two favorite verses in the whole Bible is Psalm 37:23. It says, “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way.”
Our steps are established, they’re preset, predetermined. Yes, we have free will, but yes, God IS sovereign over all. Sometimes He allows us to hit those walls to make us stronger, to KEEP US relying on HIM and not ourselves!
For every brick wall I hit, I’m thankful. Because it reminds me that I CANNOT do this without HIM. I need Him…desperately, every single day. It reminds me that my life is not my own, it’s His. It belongs to Him. He allows me to hit a wall, to go through hard times, in order to humble me, that I should remember exactly WHO is in charge. And I’m thankful, because sometimes I forget.
If you’ve hit a brick wall, if you’ve come across hard times, cry out to the Lord. Ask Him to help you. He WANTS to help you. He loves you. He’s right there for you…He’s waiting for you to ask for help.
If you have asked for help, take comfort, my friend, because God answers EVERY SINGLE prayer we pray as a Christian, whether big or small. Keep praying, keep asking…He will lead you and guide you. He will show you the way. He will establish your steps.
In the meantime, get some encouragement from these 30 Bible verses for hard times! They will strengthen your soul and bring you comfort, knowing you’re not alone in this!! ❤️
