I have to admit that peace has not always been a familiar friend to me. 😕
When I was married, I came to Christ after we got married and when I did, it was almost immediate war. Life goals changed, hearts changed, desires changed, souls changed. All the sudden I had a new leader (God) and he didn’t like that. It caused conflict within our home. Nothing was ever the same. 👉 But I don’t regret my decision to follow the Lord one bit!!! It was THE best decision I ever made in my whole entire life.
After my husband took off and abandoned us, I instantly became a single mom. Peace as a single mom? You’re kidding, right?! 🙃
Life was crazy. My whole world turned upside-down and I was struggling just to make it to the next day. Bills are always a burden and worry and fear creeps in…a LOT!
But recently I’ve been spending MORE time with God, in one-on-one fellowship and I’m starting to discover peace. When I’m with Him, it’s peaceful. There aren’t a ton of distractions (I turn those all off), I’m not worried about bills or my kids growing up to be good human beings, or the other billion things I deal with as a single mom, I’m just serene.
Life can be so demanding, constantly pulling us in different directions, tearing us apart, but if we make it a point in our daily walk to spend real, quiet time with the Lord and instead of barraging Him with a ton of our problems, prayers, and thoughts, but rather, sitting at His feet and LISTENING, after a few days of doing that, you’ll start to experience peace! 😍
And I have to say that you make MUCH BETTER decisions in general when you’re operating from a peaceful state than when you’re not!! 💯
I’m starting to fall in love with peace. The quiet, still, serene moments with my Lord. It’s amazing how GOOD it feels!!
I want you to experience that peace too, so today, I grabbed my favorite 30 Bible verses for peace below. Read them, meditate on them, make them a part of your daily life because living in God’s peace is something EVERY Christian should experience. 😊
