Caramel Delight Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
Pastry Crust:
- 2 Cups flour
- ½ Cup cocoa powder
- 1½ Tbsp sugar
- ½ Cup cold butter
- ¼ Cup peanut butter
- 3 Tbsps ice cold water
Filling:
- 1½ Cups peanut butter
- 6 Apples, sliced
- ½ Cup brown sugar
- 1 Tsp allspice
- 1 Tsp ground cloves
- 1 Tsp cinnamon
Toppings:
- Caramel sauce (or salted caramel, Dutch caramel, etc.)
- ½ Cup almonds, chopped
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 370 degrees. Grease a pie dish and set aside.
Step 2: In a food processor combine all the crust ingredients and pulse until thick. Press into the prepared pie dish and take to the oven for 15 minutes.
Step 3: Remove from the oven and carefully spread the peanut butter on the pie crust and add the apple slices, brown sugar, allspice, ground cloves, and cinnamon.
Step 4: Bake for 18-20 minutes or until done. Remove from the oven and let it cool down.
Step 5: Drizzle the caramel sauce on top and garnish with the almonds.
Serve and enjoy.
Tip: You can substitute the chopped almonds for caramelized almonds.
