They make an easy to grab and go breakfast, or a great sweet treat for after dinner dessert.
Bonus: if you don’t feel like spending the time to make the dough, you can use store bought crescent dough. I won’t tell anyone 😉
Cinnamon Crescent Bites Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups flour
- 8 Tbsps butter
- 1 Egg
- ½ Cup sugar
- ½ Cup water
- 1 Tbsp instant yeast
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch salt
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Step 2: In a saucepan boil the water, reduce to low heat, and place the instant yeast. Stir until dissolved.
Step 3: In a bowl mix ¼ cup sugar, egg, 3 tbsps butter, and salt.
Step 4: Incorporate the flour and slowly stir in the water and keep mixing until thick.
Step 5: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until sticky. Place the dough back again to the bowl, covered, and let it set for 1 hour.
Step 6: Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough and cut into strips of 1 inch.
Step 7: In a bowl place the remaining butter and melt in the microwave.
Step 8: Incorporate the cinnamon and the remaining sugar. Stir to combine.
Step 9: Brush the dough strips with the previous mix and roll them.
Step 10: Place them on a greased sheet and cook for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
Step 11: Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.
Tip: Try adding apple or raisins to the cinnamon rolls, or make them cinnamon twists next time!
