How to Make Gourmet Caramel Apples Recipe – Super Easy!
Ingredients:
- Small Granny Smith apples
- 1 Cup light corn syrup
- 2 Cups light brown sugar
- 8 Tablespoons melted butter
- A dash of sea salt
- 1 small can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- 16 oz of Reese’s pieces (4 theater size boxes)
- 1 Cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Step 1: Wash and dry all your apples well
Step 2: In a large ziplock bag, use a potato masher to crush your Reese’s pieces and line a baking pan with parchment paper
Step 3: In a medium sized sauce pan, combine your butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk, and sea salt
Step 4: Bring ingredients to a boil on medium to low heat (stirring constantly so it does not burn) for about 10-15 minutes until caramel thickens
Step 5: Let caramel sauce sit for 10 minutes to cool a little bit
Step 6: Place a Popsicle stick into the top of your apples and carefully dip and twirl them into your melted caramel
Step 7: Now place your apple directly into your bowl of crushed Reese’s pieces and use your fingers to sprinkle them onto the top of your apples (this will need to be done quickly as the caramel hardens quickly)
Step 8: In a microwave safe dish, heat 1 cup of chocolate chips on 50% power for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Then pour into a decorating bag/bottle and drizzle onto your apples
Step 9: Place your apples in the fridge for about 30 minutes, slice, and enjoy your professional looking caramel apples! Or eat directly from the stick!
