Sometimes things happen in life that we can’t control. Sometimes you can even see them coming and yet it still feels like somehow they snuck up on us. Sometimes the pain is unbearable. Someone will misalign your name, think things about you that are not true, even lie about you. Perhaps they lie, unknowing what they are doing. Perhaps it’s to protect themselves. But mostly, they don’t even realize the consequences they are sowing, the destruction they are creating.
I find myself in such a time as this right now. In two different situations, my name and character are being falsified. People who should know better about me, believe things that are not true. But in this, I’ve learned many things.
- We can’t control other people, nor what they think about us
- Great humility because the Bible says that God will exalt the humble in HIS time
- Humans, even the most honorable of people, will fail us and we must forgive them even when they don’t see they’ve done anything wrong
- I am not a by-product of what others think of me. I am who GOD says I am
- Though many people scoff at me, I will continue to follow the Lord, trusting in Him with my whole life
- Patience, because I can’t speed up my trials. It’s all in God’s perfect timing, not mine
- That I am worthy to suffer for Christ’s sake, to accomplish all that He intends to accomplish
- ….and so much more!
During these times, we cry out to Jesus, “Lord, save me from this calamity.” And He answers…”Wait. Be still and wait.” And during these times of intense wait, sometimes, if we seek Him with our whole heart for the purpose that we obey God out of a pure heart desperately wanting to follow Him and Him alone, He shows us the answers.
He tucks inside our hearts the truth.
I know the outcome.
I know what will happen.
I know His will.
Because God doesn’t hide from us. He is our Shepherd and leads us. And sometimes we NEED the answers in order to get through the intense anguish we are going through.
For His purposes, when we ask for wisdom, He gives it. 🙌 He does not leave us alone in our sufferings. And we can hold tightly to His promises and wait the storm out, knowing that the darkness cannot hide forever. That God is using situations in our lives for a purpose and that He will not leave us there forever.
The hope that is inside me to wait through the storm, is one of the biggest blessings I want to bestow upon you! If you want to know the details, I’ve written a post all about it. In it, I will share my heart, give you hope, and inspire you to get through your own storms of life.
To date, I believe it is one of THE best, most powerful posts I have ever written, and I hope that you’ll join me in reading it. If you want hope and encouragement, it’s yours for the taking. God does not leave us alone in our trials.
