I’ve been creating a lot of fun stuff with the verse, Psalm 46:10 on it lately. It’s been my favorite verse for MANY, MANY years and a friend mentioned to me how it’s a really GREAT chapter to read on, especially right now, she said.
It was the way she said, “especially right now” that really got me thinking. 🤔
See, God is here, with us ALL the time. The beauty and majesty of His presence, His glory, His Word, it’s with us always. That Psalm has always been there, since it was written and recorded to be included IN the Bible.
But the beautiful part is that, sometimes WE don’t see what’s right in front of our face. 💯
And I’m not saying that specifically to her but that sometimes, as a collective Church, we get so bogged down with life and look at world events and the trivial things in life that always pull at our hearts and FEEL so important at the time (but aren’t); we get wrapped up in all that.
Psalm 46 reminds me that it doesn’t matter what’s going on in the world or not, my God is with me through it all. It’s a truth I tuck away inside of my innermost being. It’s a truth I cannot escape from.
There have been a couple times in my life where I’ve just wanted to run and hide away from everything. I was like Jeremiah who just wanted to get away from the sins of others, desiring even but a small respite (Jeremiah 9:2).
And try and try and try as I might to truly just be alone and take a big gulp of air, just 5 seconds of truly being ALONE, I was never able to get away from God. And it’s not that I was trying to get away from HIM, but it’s that I just wanted to be completely alone in those moments and I couldn’t.
👉 There was no where that I could go, nothing I could do, that could hide me from my Savior Jesus Christ.
I’m glad that I went through those moments, because it’s such a good memory to me now. Sometimes, if I feel alone, like I’m the only one fighting the world for Him, or if the sins of others (think: world events, the whole world gone mad with greed; common courtesy is a thing of the past) really has me down, I remember those times in my life where I have tried to fully get away and my God was there.
We can’t escape Him and I think that comes as such an amazing reminder that He IS always there for us. 🙌🎁💎🥰
Listen, He’s not some far off God, some “genie in the sky” as some might want to have you believe, no! He cares about you. He died for you. But more than that. He sacrifices every day for you. Not just in death as a one time thing. The Bible says God does not change (Hebrews 13:8). So Him dying on the cross for you is amazing, in of itself, but Him dying to Himself did not stop on the cross.
Have you ever stopped to think about that? 🤯
👉 You have someone, who died for you, who dies to Himself for you daily, who DESPERATELY wants a relationship with you, who chases you whether you’re there with Him or whether you’re far away from Him, an Almighty, all-knowing, precious Savior and friend.
Every day, His thoughts are about us.
Yet, how often do our thoughts revolve around Him?
When was the last time you thought about Him?
Maybe at church on Sunday?
Okay. When was the last time you thought about Him WITHOUT being prompted?
If you have trouble answering that question, it’s okay. It shows us that we have things to change in our lives. 🤗
He’s there. He’s ALWAYS there for you. And we need to be a people constantly pursuing our relationship with HIM, as much as HE pursues US! Not that we’ll ever get there; we won’t, but that we need to try. Why?
Because He is worthy. 💣
He is worthy to be chased, adored, loved, worshiped, praised, and served.
And you know what. He is the ONLY person worth chasing, adoring, loving, worshipping, praising, and serving.
As much as you love your husband, your children, your friends, they will inevitably let you down. There will be a day where they might not be there for you when you need them most. It’s okay. God won’t do that. He’s there! 💖
Whatever you’re facing today, or whatever you’re pretending you’re NOT facing today (yeah, I’m looking at you, all those people pretending they have it all together…no one does, okay. No one. We’re all fallen humans. We all fall. We all sin. We all mess up. You are no different than anyone else and no one around here expects you to be!) 🤗💯
No matter what you’re facing today, you know that Jesus Christ is there for you. And guess what, if you’re suffering, if you’re hurting, the Bible tells us He is even MORE close to us. 🤩
One of my favorite Hebrew words is Ze’Akah. It means, that cry you cry out in total anguish when you’ve falling flat on your face and you see no way out. A noise like when a wolf howls. It’s that deep, tormented pain. Do you know that when you cry out to God like that, He is ALWAYS there?! He is closer to you than EVER in those moments!!!
Why? Because He cares. He KNOWS that kind of pain. Think of all that He went through just in His earthly ministry. Being rejected, despised, traded by His own companion Judas.
He understands your pain. He’s been through it. Maybe not the exact example you’re dealing with, but in essence He has. He loves you, my friend. And there is no one else on this planet who can ever love you more than God. That’s the truth. 💯
Do you love Him back?
Whaaaa?
Do you love Him back? Do you love Him like He loves YOU? 😮
Take some time to really answer that question in your heart and when you’re ready, come check out all the amazing things we have for you THIS WEEK to strengthen your walk and encourage your heart toward Jesus. 🤗🥰
