Every day you wake up early. You serve your family all day long. You cook for your husband, you serve his needs. You wipe snotty children’s noses and little bottoms. You maintain your home. You feed your animals. You work on things around the house, clean. You are involved in your kids school, in church, and so much more.
No one can call you lazy…you do it all. Every night, you crawl into bed exhausted, thankful the day is over and you get some rest.
You turn off the lights, shut your eyes, and fall asleep.
You wake up in the morning, rub the sleep out of your eyes and pound the floor with your feet again, and you do this every. single. day.
Every day you’re found serving your family…taking care of needs, but what about yourself?
Sometimes you’re so tired, you forget to comb your hair. You left the dog outside way too long again…is that cereal your kids are having for dinner AGAIN?!
You’re a loving wife and a doting mother, but where are YOU in all of this?
Listen, all of that is great. It’s good that you serve others, I’m not saying you shouldn’t. But, I AM saying that you should think about what YOU want sometimes.
Every now and then you look across the room and wonder if there’s more. I stand here and tell you there is! We can’t get so caught up in serving others that we forget our own needs.
We have to take care of ourselves…our health, our bodies, our dreams.
You’re not JUST a mom, you’re not JUST a wife, you are you. Your dreams, your goals, they mean something.
Two years ago, I started this thing called a blog and today, I reach over 7 million people every single month in some way or another. That’s no small feat. But, I’m not any different than you.
It’s only that, I’ve went after my dreams and you can too.
Whatever that dream is, dear one, you owe it to yourself and to the world, to get out there and live that dream. To create it. Because no one will ever make YOUR dreams happen FOR you.
I don’t care how SMALL your dream is or how outlandishly BIG it is, DO IT. Do it now. Do it today. Because if you put it off another day, you’ll never get to it.
All those things you do everyday will choke out any hope you have for going after your own dreams.
I live my dream life, but it didn’t come without hard work to get here. But it all started with accepting the fact that I am WORTH going after my dreams…and you know what?! SO ARE YOU!
